Cochin India
Known as the “Queen of the Arabian Sea” Cochin is a bustling port for more than a 1000 years. Again the Portuguese, Dutch, Chinese and British influence the cityscape. Been here many years ago my excursion took me to the Backwater of Kerala’s on a very VERY hot day, but our moving boat give us a little breeze. Our buffet lunch in a cool restaurant was very good.

Colombo Sri Lanka
Colombo is Sri Lanka largest cultural center. Colonized by Portuguese followed by Dutch then the English who named Ceylon until they became independent in 1972 Today modern skyscrapers adorned the city with historic architecture. Taking a break from modern transportation the three-wheeled Tuk Tuk is the main way of traveling through the city’s. Gangaramaya Temple for Buddhist worship and religious learning.
Phuket, Thailand
Often called “Pearl of the Andaman Sea” the island was occupied by Portuguese followed by French until 1688. Today Portuguese shop-house and monument to Buddha dot the island.
George Town Malaysia
Capital of the island of Penang, Malaysia, resting on the Strait of Malacca. Malay, Indians and Chinese all share history down here. Pedale Trishaw is a common way of transportation around town. The city features Buddhist and Taoist Temples.
