March First, twenty four, today our excursion is taking us on 1 1/2 hour bus drive through small towns and we got to see how the majority of Balinese are living. The Uluwatu Temple dates from the 11 century. A small forest lies at the front of the Temple and hundreds of monkeys dwell there. They’ll jump on you and steal anything they can crab.
Komodo National Park is a UNESCO World Heritage Site home of about 2000 Komodo Dragons. It’s a very hot humid and sunny afternoon, the park has elevated platforms that keep you safe from the Komodo who can reach 10 feet and kill a Water Buffalo for their meal
February 23rd our excursion takes us to the Barrier Reef where we’ll look at the reefs in a glass bottom boat. The weather is very cloudy and chance of rain. The lack of sunshine will not bring the beautiful colors of the live coral, it’s a 1 1/2 hr fast cruising on somewhat wavy sea. We arrive at a very big pontoon, we board the glass bottom boat, then we had a substantial lunch buffet. After made our way to a semi submerged boat to see more of the reefs. Altogether it was a very nice day wish the sun would have been part of it, I guess we can not have everything all the time. Sorry images would not upload. Will try later.
Tuesday February 12 and we are in Brisbane the capital city of Queensland Australia. It was a long bus drive from the port to downtown, driving through the industrial area, but when we got in town what a beautiful, inviting atmosphere the architecture of the old and new is mesmerizing. Again Mother Nature was good to us they had plenty of rain previous to our arrival but sunshine was there to greet us.
