Sydney, an Amazing City

Sydney, an Amazing City

Today is Monday February 19/24, we left Sydney last evening and sailing the Australian coast on our way to Brisbane. What a Glorious time we had in Sydney, that city is vibrant and people are enjoying life, Saturday evening Carolyn and had dinner on the pier next to the Sydney Opera House, had a good dinner “the focus was not the food” just enjoying the atmosphere of Aussie living. On our excursion was “Cultural Sail of Sydney” great afternoon cruising this amazing harbor and learning about the old way of life of the natives Australian.

Today is Monday 02/12/24 and being one day ahead it’s Super Bowl day, I am skipping this morning excursion and stay on board to watch the football match, Viking as usual did a great job all kinds of snacks, sliders and drinks. Went into town that afternoon and what a beautiful city it is. Next morning our excursion took us to Healesville Sanctuary a small town outside of Melbourne.

Second day of four days at sea. Starting my walk at sunrise, a little chilly and the ship was swaying quite a bit, make for a good walk keeping your balance. It’s also a nice time to look back on some pictures of past excursions.

Leaving New Zealand

Today is February the eighth on our way to Australia. Some change in our itinerary because Mother Nature is not cooperating. The Captain reported yesterday about stormy weather winds of 40 to 50 miles and waves of 21 foot, change in destination, we are not going to Tasmania. This morning I was the only one on the eighth deck walking my three miles the wind was blowing at 35 to 40 mile, only made 45 minutes and a lover 2 miles.

The day started with a beautiful sunrise and it kept going through this beautiful Island. After a 2 1/2 hour driving to some interesting spots in the town of Keri Keri and Kawa Kawa Carolyn and stayed in town searching for a place to enjoy some fresh oysters from the bay and we were successful as you will see in pictures. “HOW WHAT A BEAUTIFUL DAY”.
